Kamil Barczentewicz Riesling 2022 Poland
A full and juicy wine with a golden colour. In the foreground, sweet aromas of lime blossom, jasmine and fresh acacia honey, thyme and ginger, broken by notes of refreshing peach, juicy pear, ripe pomelo and elderflower lemonade. Maturation in steel tanks allowed the wine to retain its crispness. In the mouth it is well structured, creamy and
mineral. The high acidity blends coherently with the sweet aromas coming from grapes affected by noble rot (around 20%). Very long finish - it leaves a feeling of a full, juicy and fruity finish.
The wine is fermented in steel tanks. Fruit affected with noble rot (approximately 20%) was used. The final blend consists of different Riesling clones.
A late start to the season (bud burst on 27 April), a cool start and moderately warm
conditions during the growing season produced wines with low alcohol and high
acidity. A problematic, cool and rainy September was rewarded by a relatively warm
October. A late harvest (early November) allowed the fruit to reach maturity and take
advantage of the noble mould Botrytis cinerea. A wine with ideal parameters for long
ageing.
